Biology

The Biology Division comprises nine groups that develop research in the areas of Microbial Genetics, Microbial Epidemiology, Microbial Development, Microbial Physiology, Control of Gene Expression, and Glycobiology. Most of the expertise in this Division is focused on bacteria and archaea, but one of the teams studies protein glycosylation pathways in mammalian cells.

The Coordinator of this Division is Prof. Hermínia de Lencastre.
