Forest Biotech Lab
Overview
Our
group is hosted by
ITQB/IBET. At Forest Biotech
Lab, our main focus is on
maritime pine. We conduct studies aiming to support pine production for
reforestation according to a breeding program that seeks to obtain
plants
better adapted to the Portuguese edaphoclimatic conditions. However we
also
conduct fundamental studies on basic aspects of plant development
(focusing on
embryogenesis), gene functional analyses, genetic stability
and genetic diversity.
