Second International Workshop on Pontin and Reptin

ITQB hosts the 2nd International Workshop on Pontin and Reptin, co-organized by IBET. Following up on the success of the 1st International Workshop on Pontin and Reptin that took place in Bordeaux, France in October 2012, this is now a biannual meeting.

Pontin and Reptin are related members of the large AAA+ superfamily of conserved proteins. They are known to be involved in many cellular functions such as regulation of the assembly of multi-protein complexes, transcription, chromatin remodeling, and DNA damage response. However, little is still known about the interconnections between these multiple functions, how the relevant signaling pathways are regulated, whether the interconnections are affected in human disease, and whether components of these pathways are suitable targets for therapeutic intervention.

The workshop is divided into five sessions covering the following topics: Structural Biology, Chromatin remodeling and pre-rRNA processing, Regulation of gene expression, Transcription, and Pathophysiology.
