Abstrat:

The search for new drug delivery systems is now a central issue in drug development. In order to minimize drug degradation and loss, to prevent harmful side-effects and to increase drug bioavailability, various drug delivery systems are currently being investigated [1]. Furthermore, as new therapeutic agents emerge, for example from studies in biotechnology, such as proteins and gene therapy, there is an increasing need for the development of new technologies and carrier materials with improved properties [2].
A particularly important issue for the pharmaceutical industry is to achieve a clean and environmentally friendly, single-step operation process. Supercritical fluid technology has been successfully exploited to develop clean methods, carried out under conditions that have minimal detrimental effects on the carrier materials and pharmaceutical substances to produce delivery systems for the adequate delivery of bioactive compounds.[3] Currently in our laboratory, SCF technology is being used in the preparation of several delivery systems, namely hybrid formulations with improved properties, designed to meet specific challenges that the pharmaceutical industry is presently facing in the area of dug delivery.
