Host: Margarida Archer Head of Membrane Protein Crystallography Laboratory

Abstract:

Structural basis for understanding of molecular mechanisms of function of photoactive membrane receptors  and ion pumps will be presented. The talk is focused on our studies of the complex of sensory II receptor + its cognate transducer and a proton pump - bacteriorhodopsin. In addition, a key problem of structural biology of membrane proteins will be discussed.
