Affiliation: Associate Editor of Nature Communications

Abstract:

Nature Communications is an open access journal from SpringerNature that publishes high-quality research from all areas of the natural sciences. In this presentation, I will talk about how Nature Communications stands in regard to other journals of the Nature family, what we look for in the papers that we publish and the editorial processes being implemented at the journal.

Short CV:

Bruno did his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, Lisbon University. During his PhD at the Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, he studied lipid phase separation and protein sorting in cell membrane model systems. He then moved to the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona, Spain, where he worked on membrane protein organization and function in living cells using advance fluorescence microscopies. Since January 2016 he is a scientific editor at Nature Communications.
