Facilities
Researchers at ITQB can profit from the excellent research facilities, equipment, and support services. A list of the major equipment and services available on site is provided in this section.

The Library is located in the main building (2nd floor). Access ITQB’s library online.

| ITQB hosts the largest Portuguese NMR facility - Centro de Ressonância Magnética António Xavier. CERMAX has several NMR spectrometers (300, 400, 500 and 800 MHz), including the highest field NMR spectrometer in Portugal. This equipment is part of the National NMR Facility.

The Analytical Services Unit includes Analytical Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory, Mass Spectrometry, Amino Acids Analysis, Protein Sequencing, Elemental Analysis and Small Molecule X-ray Crystallography.

The fermentation unit is devoted to small or large scale cell growth of a multitude of diferent organisms. The unit is in charge of keeping the relevant collection of bacterial strains. Contact: João Carita Available only for inhouse researchers

The ITQB Lab Manager coordinates the purchase and maintenance of scientific equipment for the institute. Besides establishing efficient and professional purchase procedures, the Lab Manager supervises common scientific equipment and supports researchers who need to acquire laboratory instruments.
