Helena Sapeta
Helena Sapeta is a PhD student at GPlantS under the supervision of Margarida Oliveira and Ana Paula Santos .
Helena Graduated in Biology, in 2009 by Universidade de Évora.
Helena currently characterizing two purging nut (Jatropha curcas L.) ecotypes with different provenances (wet and arid climates). Her aim is to elucidate some acclimation mechanisms to water limited conditions by evaluating the morpho-physiological and molecular responses of the two ecotypes exposed to water stress.
Helena’s PhD goal is to understand the role of epigenetic factors in Jatropha adaptability to sub-optimal environmental conditions (especially drought).
