Tânia Serra

Tânia Serra is a Post-Doc working at GPlantS since 2012

tania.jpg Tânia graduated in Biotechnology Engineering at Univ. Lusófona and has a PhD in Biology granted by ITQB-UNL in 2012..

During her PhD, Tânia was involved in the identification and characterization of transcription factors involved in abiotic stress response, namely salinity. Tania characterized trascription factors by studying their gene expression pattern in response to abiotic stress conditions, transcriptional activity, in vivo localization and function in overexpressing Arabidopsis plants.

At the present, Tania's research is focused on the transcriptional regulation of genes involved in maize C4 photosynthesis. She is involved in the identification and functional characterization of transcription factors involved in these mechanisms.
