Protein folding is a fundamental process in biology which may be affected by sporadic cellular conditions and genetic defects. Many human pathologies result from defective protein folding, from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease to fatty acid metabolic disorders.

This one-day workshop on 'Protein Folding Diseases: from metabolic disorders to neurodegeneration', gathered approximately 100 participants and specialists that have overviewed the state of the art in our understanding of many of these diseases.

The talks have illustrated the importance of combining different experimental approaches to understand the molecular and cellular biology of protein folding diseases (final program). With a very pedagogical tone, this workshop was aimed at researchers interested in protein science but is also of potential interest to clinicians and students (statistics)
