Title: Raman spectroscopy in Biosciences, from metalloproteins to label-free cell imaging

Speaker: Smilja Todorovic

Affiliation: Raman Spectroscopy of Metalloproteins Lab, ITQB NOVA

Abstract:

This talk will cover the main lines of research in Raman lab, including studies of mechanistic properties of metalloproteins and their applications for rational design of bioelectronic devices. The emphasis will be given to the recent studies of more complex systems, such as label-free Raman imaging of whole cells and the potential of Raman spectroscopy for specific detection of biomolecules, which are particularly relevant for biomedical applications
