Title: Mapping, functional characterization and therapeutic targeting of RNA structural ensembles in living cells

Abstract: RNA populates an ensemble of multiple conformations, which can coexist and interconvert. The ability to switch between alternative structural states is paramount to RNA ability to regulate gene expression. In this talk I will discuss how improvements in chemical probing data analysis are making it possible to investigate RNA structural ensemble at scale, with particular focus on bacterial and human RNAs. Furthermore, I will discuss how small molecules can be used to repartition RNA conformational landscapes, further enabling modulation of gene expression.
