Summer Science is back: now with even more science

Are you wondering what to do this summer? How about spending it doing science?
Applications are now open for the 2026 edition of Summer Science @ ITQB NOVA, a summer internship programme for university students!
The programme is aimed at second- and third-year bachelor’s students interested in biomolecular sciences, life sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, computational biology and related areas. Selected students will join a research laboratory at ITQB NOVA and experience first-hand what it is like to study and work in a scientific institute.
This year, Summer Science expands from one week to two, allowing participants to develop longer and more in-depth scientific projects. In addition to lab work, students will take part in workshops, social activities and networking moments with scientists at different career stages.
The programme will take place from July 6th to 17th 2026.
