The Master’s Programme in Medical Microbiology complements a 1st cycle of training in the area of Life and Health Sciences, conferring a specialization in microbiology, with great relevance in the development of practical skills, compatible with qualified professional performance.
Classes are taught mainly in Portuguese, with occasional assessments in English (for non-Portuguese speakers).
Curricular Structure
The Master’s in Medical Microbiology comprises two academic years (120 ECTS).
The 1st curricular year (60 ECTS) is divided into two semesters: the 1st semester includes eight core, compulsory curricular units; the 2nd semester is very flexible, allowing the selection of a total of five optional curricular units (from a universe of 16 possibilities, proposed by the four organizing institutions). The 2nd year is dedicated to the dissertation.
