Protein Purification in AKTA Systems: From Theory to Practice

The purpose of the protein purification course is to train students of any educational level or researchers, with the aim of making them independent in protein purification techniques, particularly those associated with “Fast Pressure Chromatography”- AKTAs  equipment. This course will enable trainees to independently purify the proteins they wish to study in the course of their future research work.

The course, supported by CYTIVA, will cover theoretical concepts such as optimizing protein expression, choosing the best buffer for stability, sample preparation using cell disruption methods, operation and maintenance of automated AKTA-type systems, chromatographic techniques, monitoring and verification of purification results, protein concentration and dialysis methods and cleaning chromatographic columns.
