Short CV:

Since the end of 2004, Dr. Didier Cabanes is  the head of the Group of Molecular Microbiology at the Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC, Porto). Between 2000 and 2004 he was a researcher in the Prof. Pascale Cossart’s laboratory, Unité des Interactions Bactéries-Cellules, Institut Pasteur (Paris, France).
His current interests are focused on the study of virulence mechanisms used by Listeria monocytogenes to enter, survive and proliferate in its host. His group aims to identify new Listeria virulence factors and its mechanisms of action, new cellular targets and new host responses to infection, taking advantage of the most recent genomics and post-genomics findings.
