Abstract:

Technology Transfer is becoming increasingly relevant in the Academic sector (Health, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Environment) as a way of creating value, generating outcomes, decreasing risk and funding research. The Industry Liaison Office of ITQB offers its Researchers support in this area: ideas development and assessment - from the identification of an innovative project through all phases of IP protection and licensing or spin-off creation, management of different contracts related to Intellectual Property and Tech transfer, including the provision of services, and Partnerships with Industry.

During this session, I will review general strategies that exist to protect your research. Clarify the questions of how and when to patent without compromising your publications. Explain how we can work together to approach companies of different industries in order to sign licensing agreements and other types of contracts.

Topics for the session:

  • Types of contracts (e.g. joint Agreements, NDA, MTA)
