Cover features suberin extraction by ionic liquids

The work Dissolution of cork biopolymers in biocompatible ionic liquids  by ITQB researchers and co-workers has been selected to illustrate the cover of Green Chemistry. The cover credits are due to Luís Paulo N. Rebelo (photo) and Luís Morgado (design).

One of the most cited journals in the area (current impact factor is 4.5), Green Chemistry, from the Royal Society of Chemistry publishing group, publishes research that attempts to reduce the environmental impact of the chemical enterprise by developing a technology base that is inherently non-toxic to living things and the environment
