Title: Single shot metabolomics: From mass spectra to biology

Abstract: Metabolomics is currently experiencing a renowned interest considering its closeness to the phenotype and the promise it holds for a new paradigm of biomarker discovery. In contrast with other omics, the analytic approaches to the metabolome are quite diverse and incorporate a vast array of techniques, from chromatography to MS hyphenated methods as well as NMR, making any comparative approach elusive, at best. Here we propose a single shot method for untargeted metabolomics, based on extreme resolution magnetic resonance mass spectrometry, able to convert mass spectrometry data into biological information.
