Title: Programa Ciência + Cidadã: an active citizenship program

Abstract: Citizen science, the public's participation in science, can take many forms and it is increasingly changing the way science is communicated and done. In this session we will present to you a citizen science program, Ciência + Cidadã, that started last year and that is a partnership between ITQB NOVA, IGC and Oeiras City Hall. This program aims to: (1) promote a more active citizenship through science, (2) further a more open science, and (3) strengthen the connection between science and society. Come learn about our first citizen science project and brainstorm with us how we can keep growing this program around your research, striving for a more informed, active and sustainable society. We will also talk about new funding opportunities.
