Uracil-DNA glycosylases

Uracil-DNA N-glycosylase (UNG) and mismatch specific uracil DNA glycosylase (MUG) remove uracil from DNA and belongs to the Base Excision Repair (BER) pathway. We have determined the crystal structure of UNG and MUG from the extremely radiation resistant bacterium D. raduodurans and UNG from the human pathogen V. cholerae, Atlantic cod and human. The links below will direct you to the PDB ID of the structure where you will also find the link to the paper where the structure is described.

D. radiodurans

V. cholerae

Atlantic cod

Uracil-DNA N-glycosylase (cUNG)
