Diego Almeida
Diego Almeida is a PhD student at GPlantS under the supervision of Margarida Oliveira, Nelson Saibo and Glenn Gregorio (IRRI).
Diego Almeida graduated in Biotechnology Engineering at Univ. Lusófona.
Diego is particularly interested in identifying transcription factors regulating a key gene involved in rice salt-tolerance. His main goal is to investigate the regulation of the target gene at different rice accessions, with particular emphasis in salt-tolerant germplasm. He is currently performing molecular and physiological analysis of rice accessions under salt stress.
