Water

Use water efficiently in all situations, including in the laboratory.

Regular tap water

• To reduce water spending at ITQB, all restroom sinks have water reducing facet aerators.

• Still, minimise water use where possible. Do not leave taps running unnecessarily.
  Save water in the laboratory by turning off the water when not required.

• Report leaking taps to maintenance office.

Deionized tap water

• Remember that every laboratory has two types of water taps: regular tap water and deionized tap water.

• Use deionized water only if absolutely necessary.
  This water is treated at ITQB. Treating water costs money making deionized tap water much more expensive than regular water.

Specially treated water

• ITQB has specially treated water with increasingly degrees of purity for particular laboratory purposes: bidistilled water and ultrapure water. Consider the application when deciding the type of water you need.

• Avoid wasting and be rational using all types of water.
