Short biography:

Prof. Busch has been Head of Drug Discovery (research & early development pharmaceuticals) since 2006 and reports in his capacity to the Head of Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
Prof. Busch studied pharmacy at Goethe University Frankfurt and earned a doctorate in pharmacology in 1989. He has received DFG and Helmholtz Fellowships and was a Heisenberg Fellow at the University of Tübingen and at the Max Planck Institute in Göttingen. He is an Associate Professor at the Pharmacological Institute of Goethe University Frankfurt since 1998. His scientific work has been recognized with the Franz Volhard Award and the Sir Bernhard Katz Award.
He was appointed Head of Cardiovascular Research at Hoechst Marion Roussel in 1997 and at Aventis in 1999. At Sanofi-Aventis, Busch led the cardiovascular research efforts at the research sites Frankfurt and Paris.
