Title: InnOValley PoC Opening Session

Abstract:
InnoValley is the joint Innovation Center of ITQB NOVA and the Instituto Gulbenkian Ciência, created with the support of the Municipality of Oeiras.
This project, a pioneer in Portugal, aims to leverage the potential of scientific research projects and boost the transfer of technology from scientific institutes to the market, empowering researchers with knowledge and tools necessary to develop their projects.
The Innovation Unit provides support to ITQB NOVA Researchers in all innovation projects and contracts related to knowledge and tech transfer having as major goal the translation of ITQB NOVA Research to society with a positive impact in the life of citizens.
IU works with Researchers to identify, assess, protect, develop and commercialize research outputs, aiming to establish collaborations with companies, provision of services, licensing and spin-off creation, thus bridging the gap to the market.
The IU was established in 2009 to facilitate the transformation of knowledge generated at ITQB NOVA’s labs into viable economic products and services.
The call for applications will open next Monday, Dec 13th at 4pm with a virtual zoom session. The event will start with an introduction from Prof. Cláudio Soares (ITQB) and Prof. Mónica Bettencourt-Dias (IGC), followed by an explanation of the funding mechanism by the Innovation Unit and will finish with a session of questions & answers.
