Title: Abiotic stress seen from a plant’s perspective

Speaker: Margarida Oliveira

From: Head of Genomics of Plant Stress Laboratory

Abstract:

Plant development is strongly dependent on the environment. External factors such as light, cold or altitude can modulate the way in which plants grow. At GPlantS lab we concentrate on the impact that environmental conditions, often stressful, have in gene expression and how this may affect plant behaviour. In this presentation I will cover some examples of the studies going on at GPlantS, discussing how stress can change a plant!
If in your daily life you feel you are stressed, than try to imagine how you would feel if you were a plant!
