Title: The Art of Chemical Synthesis
Speaker: Beatriz Royo
Affiliation: Organometallic Catalysis Lab, ITQB NOVA
Abstract: Chemical synthesis has broad impact across all areas of society. In our research group, we make new molecules that are designed specifically for particular requirements with specific properties. We also develop new ways to make these molecules in an effective manner. In this talk, I will outline some of our most recent findings on the synthesis of new complexes with bio-relevant metals, and their application in the activation of CO2 and in the reduction of other functional groups.
