Title: What will move ITQB NOVA’s Communication in 2026?
Speaker: Marta Daniela Santos
From: ITQB NOVA's Communication Office
Abstract: ITQB NOVA is in constant communication with several, diverse audiences — from its internal community to journalists, students, researchers, stakeholders, funders, and more. The Communication Office plays a central role in strengthening the Institute’s public engagement, promoting its recognition, supporting talent and funding acquisition, and ensuring a consistent and strategic relationship with all audiences.
Based on the results of 2025 and previous years, and aligned with the Institute’s strategic mission, in this SCAN we present ITQB NOVA's communication strategy for 2026, which has three main missions:
- Internal Communication, fostering cohesion between researchers, students, and staff and promoting a sense of belonging within the Institute;
- Institutional Communication, promoting the Institute's research and training offerings nationally and internationally through multiple channels;
- Connection to Society, bringing citizens and scientists closer together.
These missions also include the recruitment of new students and ongoing work with the school community. And in all of them, the strong partnership with the Municipality of Oeiras has been crucial in applying the reach, proximity, and impact of our activities.
We therefore invite the ITQB NOVA community to learn about the strategy designed for 2026 and the various ways in which the Communication Office can support you and continue to promote the Institute’s image and state-of-the-art research.
SCANs are weekly seminars that happen every Wednesday at noon by in-house researchers and invited speakers at ITQB NOVA.
