Title: Bioinformatics Services @ IGC in the context of BioData.pt and ONEIDA

Abstract:
In this talk, I'll start by briefly describing the Bioinformatics Unit of IGC, which has been providing Biologists with direct user support in the analysis of biological data, more recently with a particular emphasis on high throughput sequencing data. In the context of the ONEIDA project, we have increased our capacity in the specific topic of metagenomics, and I will discuss what have we been doing and our future plans in this regard. I will then briefly describe the national BioData.pt bioinformatics infrastructure, the role of the Bioinformatics Unit of IGC in this infrastructure, and discuss our plans to provide more and better service to the scientific community.
