Elspeth Mac Rae is General manager of Manufacturing and Bioproducts at SCION (Forests products and innovation) in New Zealand, already for 10 years.

She is leading Scion's wood and fibre processing activities, as well as biorefinery, biodiscovery and bioplastic, clean technology and biotech/omics activities.

She has been member of the Advisory Board of EcoChem, Strategic Advisory Group for the high value manufacturing portfollio, and Biological Industries portfolio for the New Zealand science ministry.

She is also member of several Advisory Groups and plant science committees at international level, bridging activities between EU and New Zealand..

Elspeth has published over 100 paper in refereed journals, in a wide range of areas (mostly plant or biochemistry-based) and supervised/mentored many students and post-docs.
