Title: Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Arsenic Perception in Plants

Speaker: Antonio Leyva

From: Centro Nacional de Biotecnología (CNB-CSIC, Madrid)

Abstract: Antonio Leyva will share his team’s recent discoveries on how plants perceive and respond to arsenic, a toxic element of growing concern due to its accumulation in crops—particularly rice—and its impact on food safety. His research explores arsenic transporters and regulatory mechanisms that link detoxification responses with plant development, offering key insights for the development of safer, stress-resilient crops.
