Abstract: The aim of this seminar is to demonstrate the need to carry out vector control research to combat a large burden of diseases of global relevance to public health. The seminar will address issues of vector-borne diseases, vector mosquitoes and vector control as part of entomological surveillance. The second part of the seminar will focus on how to do applied research on vector mosquito control, explaining the experience of the GIDTPiaget Research Group on Tropical Diseases.
