The meeting Encontro Ciência em Portugal – Ciência 2008 will take place at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian from 2 to 4 July.
During three days, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the main research lines of the different Associate Laboratories and to discuss the current scientific and technological activities in Portugal. The thematic sessions, organized around major scientific issues, will have the participation of other research institutions, companies, and organizations.
Just as Ciência 2007, the aim of this second meeting, organized by the Conselho dos Laboratórios Associados and the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, is to increase the public awareness of portuguese scientific activities, to stimulate discussions among researchers, and to foster collaborations between the different stakeholders.
The opening ceremony, presided by the Portuguese Prime Minister, will take place on Wednesday at 10h00.
The Associate Laboratory ITQB/IGC/IBET will be presented on Friday (session: Biologia, Biotecnologia e Bioquímica); LA researchers will further participate in the sessions Nanosistemas e Aplicações, Células Estaminais e Medicina Regenerativa, e-ciência, and Novas Empresas de Base Científica.
