European distinction for ITQB/IBET researchers
Paula Alves, coordinator of the Animal Cell Technology Laboratory, was elected to the Executive Board of the European Society of Animal Cell Technology (ESACT), during its 20th Meeting, held in Dresden, 17-20 June and attended by 950 people. Paula Alves obtained the highest number of votes of the four winners out of nine candidates.
Manuel Carrondo, full professor from FCT/UNL and IBET CEO's, received the Medal of Merit of the ESACT in the same meeting in Dresden. In the 30 years of existence of this society, this was the twelfth time the medal was distributed.
