Former ITQB Director to head Faculty of Sciences

Jose Artur Martinho Simões, ITQB director between 2008 and 2011, has been elected as Director of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL). Since the end of his mandate, Jose Artur Martinho Simões who is a full professor at Universidade de Lisboa, has continued to collaborate with ITQB as an invited professor of the institute.

ITQB Director Cláudio M. Soares expressed his contentment with this appointment: “on behalf of ITQB, I wish all the success to ITQB’s former director in his new position, I’m sure he is the right man for the job” he said. Also former director Luis Paulo N. Rebelo, who served as vice-director to Prof. Martinho Simões, added “I am absolutely certain that the faculty of sciences is very lucky to have him in charge”.
