Abstract: Academic publishing can be very straightforward, however some tricks might help to minimize frustrating and lengthy processes at an editorial level as well as at the peer-review stage. After a brief introduction on the Nature research journals portfolio and the respective targets, the seminar will focus on the editorial criteria at Nature Communications and the different stages of the peer-review process from the initial editorial assessment. Some of the questions that will be answered are: What makes a great paper? What are we looking for at Nature Communications? What is Open Access? Hopefully, this seminar will give a clear and transparent overview of the editorial process at Nature Communications and other Nature research journals.
