Filed under:
Bringing together scientists and society since 2005

Oeiras, 20.11.2017

For Science and Tecnology week 2017, ITQB NOVA researchers will go back to schools and science communication strategies will be discussed in a national meeting.

Between 20 and 24 November, ITQB NOVA researchers will visit schools in Oeiras and greater Lisbon and talk with a group of students about their research and what it takes to be a scientist. We will update daily the list of researchers and schools involved, and by the end of the week final numbers will be counted.

On the 24th November, Portuguese Day of Scientific Culture, the national celebration will take place in Porto. The program includes discussions on Communicating Science in Society, Communicating Health in the Media and Science and Pseudoscience in Health Communication. The day will end with the Science Communication Awards Ciência Viva Montepio, that will be attributed to Carlos Fiolhais (Grand Prize), Teresa Firmino and Filomena Navas (Media) and Isabel P. Martins (Education). ITQB NOVA is part of Agência Nacional para a Cultura Científica, entity responsible for the prizes.
