Ana Paula Farinha

Ana Paula Farinha is a Post-Doc researcher working at GPlantS since 2010.

Foto_Paula2.jpg Paula graduated in Applied Plant Biology by FCUL and obtained her PhD in 2010, in Molecular Biology by ITQB-UNL.

She started to study plant responses to water deficit mediated by ABA at CSIC (CRAG) in Barcelona, where she developed most of her PhD work. Her major research interest is to understand how plants (cereals in particular) respond/adapt at molecular level to abiotic stress, especially to water deficit and salinity. Besides studying stress responses in rice and maize, she also has some expertise on oxidative stress responses, in fission yeast. Paula has a strong  background on proteomics and imaging techniques.

At present, Paula is involved in the analysis of post-translational modifications (e.g., phosphorylation) of major C4 proteins in maize through proteomics and mass spectrometry.
