Applications for ITQB NOVA Master's Programmes are open! This year, you can apply to a new Master's in Plant Biology for Sustainable Agriculture, which adds to the existing offer in Biochemistry for Health, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Medical Microbiology, and Science Communication.
At ITQB NOVA, all programmes are taught with a hands-on approach, meaning you will learn directly from researchers and professionals who are breaking new ground every day. Programmes are developed with the best partners in each field and in close connection with the industry. Here, you will benefit from a varied approach, learning tools that go beyond your field, such as how to better communicate science, prepare a grant application and support technology transfer to industry. You can develop your thesis in state-of-the-art laboratories and offices, run by multidisciplinary and multinational scientific teams.

MSc in Plant Biology for Sustainable Agriculture
The Master’s in Plant Biology for Sustainable Agriculture, developed at ITQB NOVA and aligned with the Green-IT Research Unit, combines theoretical and hands-on practical training in plant sciences to equip you with the skills needed to help face the major global challenges of food security, sustainable production and climate change. You can choose to develop a dissertation in a research lab or opt for a professional internship in industry.
In the end, you can explore career paths in research and development, agrotech, environmental conservation, and policy within academia, industry, NGOs and government agencies.

MSc in Medical Microbiology
The Master's in Medical Microbiology, developed in collaboration with IHMT, NMS and FCT NOVA, trains specialists with a multidisciplinary and global view of molecular microbiology for human health.
This course gives you the opportunity to explore careers in diagnostics, medical centers, public health, and research in academy or in the industry.

MSc in Science Communication
The Master’s in Science Communication, developed in partnership with NOVA FCSH, takes a practical perspective of three main communication channels: research institutions, educational institutions, and the media. You will learn tools for strategic communication and journalism and get to know successful communication projects.
After graduating you can follow careers paths in journalism, science communication, educational institutions or other institutional settings.

MSc in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
The Master's in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (MCBBI) provides multidisciplinary training in the interface between Life Sciences and Information Technology. This course is implemented by ITQB NOVA, FCT NOVA, NOVA IMS, NMS and IHMT NOVA.
You can specialize in one of two branches - Multi-Omics for Life and Health Sciences or Biosystems Simulation for Life and Health Sciences - and follow a career path in research and development areas (R&D) and in the industry.

MSc in Biochemistry for Health
The Master's in Biochemistry for Health, in collaboration with NMS and FCT NOVA, provides a critical and analytical perspective of Human Health. During the course you will discuss Research & Development in sectors including Pharmaceutical Industry, Clinical Analysis, and Biotechnology. You can develop your thesis in academic or industry laboratories, in Portugal or abroad.
After graduating, you can explore a career in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Medical Laboratories, Public Health, the Public Administration and regulatory sectors or in R&D in the biosciences, medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
