Recycling

At ITQB, all recyclable waste that can be recycled is collected separately.
ITQB now has its own Ecoponto to make recycling even easier.
Remember to separate waste and be sure to use the different types of waste containers available at ITQB.

 There are paper containers next to every photocopier at ITQB.

• Minimize papers by using E-mail and circulation lists.

• Use double-sided copying and reduce printing whenever possible.

• Use recycled (or high recycled content) paper and reuse paper.

• Recycle all paper you can't use and you don't need (put all paper in the specific containers).

• Myth: Paper with staples or paper-clips cannot be recycled.
  Truth: Neither staples nor paper clips need to be removed from paper.  Both are removed at the paper mill using magnets, screens and filters during the pulping process. Recycle all your office paper and newspapers.

• Myth: Envelopes with plastic window cannot be recycled.
  Truth: You don't need to take out the plastic from the envelopes.
  

• ITQB will soon have its own Ecoponto but we can start right now to separate plastic and aluminium. 
  For the time being, please take this recyclable waste to the nearest recycling container.

• In the lab, separate broken glass (not pyrex) in a container labelled VIDRO. It will be collected in the afternoon during lab cleaning.

• To dispose of broken glass at the cafeteria, use the container available there.
    

• At the 1st floor (just in front of the Storage room) you can find containers to dispose of used batteries or old cell phone batteries (besides protecting our planet you will be helping AMI).

• Use the draft printing option by default.
