Short course
The agricultural sector faces significant challenges related to food security, climate change, and environmental sustainability. The growing need to increase agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner requires the adoption of new technologies that can improve the efficiency of production systems while minimizing environmental impact. Plant phenotyping offers an advanced approach to monitoring and optimizing crop growth, increasing resistance to biotic stresses (pests and diseases) and abiotic stresses (droughts, extreme temperatures), and improving the management of resources such as water and nutrients. These emerging technologies thus enable more informed and accurate decision-making, contributing to more sustainable agricultural practices capable of meeting global food production demands. The course “New Plant Phenotyping Technologies (in Chamber and Field)” is designed to equip professionals in the agricultural sector with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement these technologies in their professional activity. The course not only prepares professionals to face the contemporary challenges of agriculture, but also promotes innovative and sustainable agricultural practices. In addition, the course promotes closer ties between academia and the productive sector, encouraging collaboration between ITQB NOVA and companies in the national productive sector.
Target audience
- Professionals in the agricultural sector (farmers, agricultural technicians, employees of agricultural companies, and related fields).
- Professionals from other areas related to agriculture, including public administration bodies and the national science and technology system.
