GREEN-IT Annual Meeting
The 7th Annual Meeting of the Bioresources for Sustainability Unit GREEN-IT will take place 10 - 11 October 2022, at ITQB NOVA, Oeiras, and InnovPlantProtect, Elvas.
GREEN-IT is a Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia funded research unit, that links Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier ITQB NOVA, Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica iBET, Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência IGC, Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária INIAV and Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge INSA. The GREEN-IT Bioresources for Sustainability Unit addresses the challenge of ensuring food security and adequate resources for a growing human population, by deciphering the basic mechanisms of plant-environment interactions and translating knowledge into innovation for plant breeding, while guaranteeing environmental sustainability.
The GREEN-IT annual meeting will include presentations regarding the overview of the ongoing GREEN-IT, as well as the plans for the new structure of the Unit. The meeting will also count with presentations by some new members of GREEN-IT, followed by general discussion and comments by the Scientific Advisory Board. Tuesday, October 11 will encompass a visit to the InnovPlantProtect CoLAB, in Elvas, so the Scientific Adivsory Board and other GREEN-IT members can be acquainted with the facilities and the research developed.
