This Master will not open in the academic year 2023/2024. 

The development of plant and industrial biotechnology is essential to achieve a bio-economy based on a sustainable use of resources to contribute significantly to the social and sustainable development of the country and the planet.

The Master in Biotechnology for Sustainability aims to educate human resources with the skills and technical abilities to contribute to the paradigm shift. For that, it counts on a broad faculty of recognized merit, the participation and cooperation of the main national biotechnology, plant sciences and economy research institutes as well as an innovative curricular plan.

The MsC is coordinated by Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier, da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (ITQB NOVA), with the colaboration of Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Instituto de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária (INIAV), Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC), Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA), Nova School of Business and Economics (NOVA-SBE) and Centro de Biotecnologia Agrícola e Agro-Alimentar do Alentejo (CEBAL).
