Congratulations InPP! |
| The collaborative laboratory InnovPlantProtect celebrated this week its third anniversary. Created in 2019, this CoLab located in Elvas gathers a multicultural team of 39 people. The institution marked this date with an online campaign on its social networks, with testimonies from researchers and staff. InPP was created with the aim to develop innovative bio-based solutions, and provide diagnostic and monitoring services for crop protection, thus contributing to the sustainability of agricultural systems. It is an initiative by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, led by ITQB NOVA and GREEN-IT, in collaboration with several other institutions. |

Carina Valente awarded ESCMID grant |
| Carina Valente, ITQB NOVA post-doc researcher at the Molecular Microbiology of Human Pathogens lab, was awarded 20,000€ of funding, under the extremely competitive ESCMID (European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) Research Grants 2022. Her project will tackle how the interactions between different types of Streptococcus pneumoniae may lead to diseases. Designed for researchers under the age of 40, with PhD or enrolled in a PhD programme, this research grant aims to “help young outstanding investigators pursue ground-breaking research in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases”. |
