Doing a pos-doc at ITQB

Postdoctoral training at ITQB targets young PhD holders who wish to specialize in a scientific area close to those developed at ITQB.

Upon being accepted at ITQB, the young researcher integrates one of the research groups lead by senior researchers and with his/her support develops a scientific project with increasing autonomy. Benefiting from the excellent conditions in terms of scientific equipment and support services, young PhDs work to develop their career as researchers, supervising students, establishing collaborations, seeking funding for their projects, organizing scientific meetings and participating in the institute’s teaching activities.

The period of post-doctoral training aims at providing researchers with the skills needed for building a professional career within the public or private sectors. While post-doc training focus mainly in the researcher’s scientific and technological development, young researchers have access to training in other areas, such as entrepreneurship, project management, science writing, IP management, ethical issues, communication and science outreach, among others.
