Abstract: Although research is a huge part of the practice of science, it isn't the only creative outlet for a scientist. My career has also incorporated teaching, science communication, mentoring, and promoting equity and access for all scientists. In this presentation, I'll share some highlights, focusing on how full-time researchers can find opportunities to participate in science beyond the bench, and how everyone can contribute to removing systemic barriers to full inclusion.
