Green-it Annual Meeting 2025

The members of Green-it Bioresources for Sustainability gathered with the External Advisory Board for 2 days of networking and presentations.

The 9th Annual Meeting of the Green-it Bioresources for Sustainability Research Unit took place on October 21 and 22, 2025, at ITQB NOVA, Oeiras. The meeting brought together members from all institutions of Green-it, as well as the External Advisory Board members Dorothea Bartels (online), Sophien Kamoun, Paul Christou, and Angela Sessitsch.

The day kicked off with a welcome by ITQB NOVA Direction, followed by a session fully dedicated to the overview of the FCT R&D Units’ Evaluation Process that Green-it was subjected to during last year, given by the Green-it Coordination – Margarida Oliveira and Isabel Abreu.

After lunch, the meeting resumed with talks by recent Green-it members/collaborators – Cátia Nunes (INIAV), Teresa Carita (INIAV), Ricardo Ramiro (InPP), Vitor Martinho (Instituto Politécnico de Viseu), followed by presentations by Green-it PhD Fellows – Diogo Lucas (GIMM/ITQB), Sofia Duarte (INIAV/ITQB), João Barnabé (ITQB/INIAV), João Reis (INIAV/ITQB). The day ended with pitches by researchers who have led or are applying to International Calls, namely Carla Brites (INIAV – Prima Trace-Rice), Jorg Becker (ITQB – Pathfinder), Isabel Abreu (ITQB – HORIZON-CL6-2024), Pedro Fevereiro (ITQB – MSCA DN-ID), Juan Ignacio Vilchez (ITQB – ERC Consolidator). The day concluded with final comments and recommendations.

The following day of the Annual Meeting was solely dedicated to the debate between the EAB members and the Green-it management board, in order to analyze and solidify ideas.
