Green-it contributes expertise to national dialogue on SDGs in higher education
Green-it Director Margarida Oliveira took part in the “Workshop ODS – SDSN: Desafios para cumprir as metas dos ODS no Ensino Superior” (“SDGs – SDSN: Challenges to achieving the SDG targets in Higher Education”), held at Universidade Aberta on November 10th. The event brought together 50 key stakeholders from across the country, from higher education institutions, public administration, companies, and non-governmental organizations.
The workshop's main goal was to mobilize higher education as a driving force in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on those most crucial for the future of universities: SDG 4 - Quality of Education; SDG 9 - Digital Transformation; SDG 13 - Climate Action; SDG 16 - Democracy and European Values; SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals.
Using a participatory and interactive approach, the workshop enabled participants to share perspectives and engage the wider community and civil society around a common concern: the achievement of the SDGs, Agenda 2030, and to launch solutions that can be developed jointly.
The workshop was jointly organized by Universidade Aberta, the OpenEU Alliance, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), and the Impulso2025 project.
