The following guides were written and tested by Bacterial Imaging Cluster (BIC) staff. These guides were implemented and designed for in-house instruments and software, as such they should only be used for operating the platform’s equipment. Feel free to contact us in case you find any errors or require additional clarifications about our guides.
These guides are meant for use as a supplement for users and do not replace formal training by a member of BIC.
Additionally, some instruction manuals and basic commands distributed by the respective manufacturing companies are also available.
Sample Preparation
Sample preparation can make or break a microscopy experiment. Therefore we have made a small Sample Preparation Guide to assist users in sample preparation and experimental design, including tips on fluorophore selection and sample mounting. If you have any suggestions to add to it please contact us.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO HIT THE OBJECTIVES ON THE STAGE OR ON THE SAMPLE HOLDER WHEN FOCUSSING THE SAMPLE! This happens when you go above the focal position so NEVER move the objectives up without a sample being present and NEVER lift the sample with the objectives!
